Maranoa Haulage to shut shop as owners retire

Over the past 23 years, Ian and Fiona French have built Maranoa Haulage from the ground up, but now the business is set to close its doors as they step into retirement.

Based in Orange, NSW, Ian and Fiona built their business from just one truck, a CH Mack, to an impressive fleet of specced up Kenworth prime movers and trailers.

Ready to embark on their next chapter, the pair have chosen to sell the lot through Ritchie Bros. Australian National Unreserved Auction next month.

There will be 12 Kenworth prime movers and 30 trailers going under the hammer including a 2019 Kenworth T610SAR, nine late model Kenworth K200 Big Cabs. The dispersal includes:

  • 2019 Kenworth T610SAR
  • 9 x 2017-2018 Kenworth K200 Big Cabs
  • 2013 Kenworth T909
  • 2008 Kenworth K108
  • 2007 Iveco Eurocargo 225 E28
  • 2 x 2015 Krueger Curtain Side Trailers Trailers
  • 24 x 2018-2021 Vawdrey Curtain Side Trailers
  • 2 x 2020 Vawdrey Drop Deck Trailers
  • 2 x 2018 Barker Curtain Side Refrigerated Trailer Trailers
  • Large quantities of spare parts, workshop and ancillary equipment

“After a long-standing relationship with Ritchie Bros., we have entrusted them to sell our fleet,” said Ian. “Fiona and I would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, suppliers, and all our employees throughout our years of operation.”

Ritchie Bros. territory manager Simon Ward says the company feels privileged to manage the dispersal for Maranoa Haulage. “Maranoa Haulage has bought and sold with Ritchie Bros. many times in the past and from those successful experiences, that is what has given Ian and Fiona the confidence to entrust us with their retirement plans,” he said.

“Maranoa Haulage is a well-known and respected transport company within the industry, with a fleet that is second to none. We encourage buyers to get online and check out this dispersal because it’s not every day the industry has an opportunity to purchase from a fleet of this quality.

The auction will take place on February 23-24 and can be accessed here.
