Late model Kenworths go under the hammer

Over 1300 assets have been consigned for the National Unreserved Auction that takes place later this month, with more items added by the day, including the recent addition of three late model Kenworth T610s.

Ritchie Bros. will hold its next unreserved auction from April 27-28.

The auction house says that while the transport and logistics industry continues to recover from supply chain issues, commercial vehicle production is still falling short of demand – adding that shortages of key materials like steel, aluminum and plastics have led to price increases for used trucks and trailers. This was highlighted in the company’s recently released Market Trends Report 2021/2022.

Ritchie Bros. territory manager Rory Mackin encourages consignors with good quality stock to bring their assets to market.

“We have just consigned two 2019 Kenworth T610s, a 2018 Kenworth T610SAR, a 2020 and 2018 Vawdrey tri/A tautliner trailer, and a 2018 Tri/A combination tautliner trailer to our upcoming National Unreserved Auction in April,” Mackin explained, adding that these particular assets are in hot demand with buyers looking to skip long wait times.

“There remains a very good appetite for transport gear in 2022; with rising prices of new machinery and lengthy wait times,” he said.

“OEMs are predicted to see a gradual, steady improvement this year, however, are not expected to see production return to pre pandemic levels just yet while supply chain bottlenecks continue to slow production on new trucks and trailers.”

At the Australian National Unreserved Online Auction (April 27-28), Ritchie Bros. says bidders can expect to see items for sale across the transport, construction, mining, and agricultural industries.

The event will be held exclusively online with those interested in bidding urged to register to bid on the day. Day one of the auction (April 27) will be dedicated to construction and crushing gear while day two (April 28) will focus on transportation and agriculture assets.
