Like many readers, I was disappointed Big Rigs was recently shuttered as part of consolidation occurring in the publishing industry. For decades, Big Rigs filled a void servicing the interests of owner-operators and small-medium sized freight and logistics operators right around Australia, who relied on it for timely and relevant information about the transport industry.
VTA’s calls during post-COVID Victorian recovery
The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has recommended heavy vehicles be given greater access to Victoria’s road network at night and times when the general public is less likely to use it, in its consultations with the Victorian Government on re-opening the state’s economy during the its post-COVID recovery.
NT border crossing update
The NT Government has released border crossing updates. From 28 August, freight workers entering the NT and truck drivers of a vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Mass of over 4.5 tonnes or train crew will be required to complete and submit an online COVID-19 Freight Risk Mitigation Management Plan prior to crossing the border.
